Meet Rocky
Age: 13
Breed: Sheltie mix
Adoption Contribution: Available for Sponsorship
Description:
We all have seasons in our lives when we are challenged by circumstances, by health issues or financial issues and dogs are often affected by these challenges. This was certainly true of our seniors Rocky and Princess. They were in a loving home, but an accident and injuries made it impossible for their owner to continue to care for them. Almost home was contacted and we were happy to let the owner know that these beloved shelties would be well taken care of for the rest of their lives. Although these two are seniors, age doesn’t seem to have any meaning for them. Rocky could have been called Tigger because he loves to spring across the room and on to any piece of furniture in his path. Princess, on the other hand, wants every one to know that she is actually the queen of the household. She is feisty and makes it quite clear to the other shelties that no one will ever boss her around. They have already bonded well with their other senior shelties siblings.
Their permanent fosters affectionately call their family of shelties their geriatric herd and I have it on good authority that the shelties are definitely keeping their humans young in spirit and young at heart as they enjoy their antics and personalities. We are glad that Princess and Rocky are “home.”
