Meet Bella
Description:
Perhaps in no other part of the world of dog rescue is the concept of the right person for the right dog more obvious than in AHDRO’s Senior to Senior Rescue (S2S). Bella is 10 ½ years old and has several medical issues requiring costly treatment. It would be unlikely that she would be adopted. Meanwhile, her new foster mom was missing having a dog, as her last dog had died earlier this year.
She’d had collies and German Shepherds before, so she knew what being a mom to a collie was all about. However, her foster mom didn’t think that she was at a stage in life where having a puppy or young dog would be best.
Enter Bella and S2S. Bella was dumped and picked up by the animal warden, rejected by whomever had her before. Bella is a loving dog who wants her butt scratched and to be close to her foster mom. She also wants lots of green beans. Collies and their quirks! Bella wants quiet walks and to explore the yard. She also wants to steal any food she can, so her foster mom must be vigilant about not leaving food out. These two are made for each other at this time in each of their lives. From a dog vacuum in a person’s life and harsh rejection in sweet Bella’s life, to a forever love for however long they will have together. Bella will only know love, happiness and green beans for the rest of her life.
Please consider donating to S2S to help pay for Bella’s and our other dogs’ care. If you are a senior and considering adoption, perhaps you should consider becoming a Senior to Senior forever foster.
