Taurus’ (Tory) Happy Ending

October 1st, 2007
I met Sherry Sholl at Powell Veterinary Clinic to pick up Tory (Taurus). I was to take him to a kennel where he would stay for a few days because there were no foster homes available. The grooming team had done a great job cleaning him up, but he stunk to high heaven. He had a horrendous ear infection. His eyes were so sad and glazed over. His fur was dry and flakey from malnutrition, and he jumped at EVERY little noise. I took one look at him and brought him home with me. Even my husband, Greg, couldn’t protest once he saw this pathetic creature. He’s been with our family 8 months now. In that time period, only a few people have ever been interested in him and they all had small children. He’s very skittish around kids. It took Tory a good 2 weeks to wag his tail — he wags it all the time now. His coat is becoming beautiful . . . still a few rough places. His ear infection took 3 months to clear up; the vet had to flush the gunk out. Now he never leaves our side. All our other 5 dogs have accepted him, and he’s a Halvacs now. I hate to admit we have this many dogs! We love him!
