Sandie Update

Hi Trudy & Tom,

Sandie & Sasha are getting along famously. Even though they’re still in a getting-to-know-you-phase, they enjoy playing together as well as just being near each other. Sandie gets so excited when we all sit on the floor … he likes to ‘collie bite’ Sasha … you know that little (ouch!) nibble using just a few front teeth? A herding maneuver, I’m sure!! Yesterday, I ALMOST got a kiss … it was some goofy combination of a ‘collie bite’, but with soft lips involved … too funny!! I see it as progress, don’t you?

He only seems to bark when he wants to say something … mostly “where’s my dinner?”, “this is fun – I’m so excited”, or sometimes “no, that’s not what I want”.

Nancy, our hairdresser that comes to our house every 5 weeks, came over Tuesday night. She’s a dog lover. Her and her husband adopted Sadie, a labra-doodle. They’ve been working with her for a year (she’s less than 2). She has required quite a bit of work as she is large and highly active. They’ve connected with a trainer Nancy used to know and are delighted with Sadie’s progress.

Anyhow, she brought Sandie a stuffed pink pig (will send photo). He loved it as it was his first “all mine” toy. Although that concept went right over Sasha’s head … OUR PIG. Sandie’s pretty agreeable and let her have it for awhile. GOOD BOY.

He’s eating well and LOVES his walks!

Have a great day.
