Matty and Mikey Soloman

We adopted our 2 Border Collie-Australian Shepard boys on November 1, 2008. They were 8 weeks young. Both boys developed Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency and require prescription medication to be mixed with special Lamb and Rice Dog Food for their meals. One boy has severe allergies and we are giving him allergy shots to help build up his immunity.

Mikey and Matty are now almost 2 and 1/2 years old. Despite their medical issues, our boys have given us so much love and joy. Being empty nesters, they bring sunshine in our lives.

Both boys have completed Dog Obedience classes and our Mikey has participated in the Canine Good Citizen training and will be taking his test on December 4, 2010 (wish him luck)*. Mikey has begun going to an area Nursing Home to bring joy to ailing seniors. He brings smiles to people petting him.

Our boys are so smart, so loving, so loyal with so much energy and fun spirits. WE love them so much and are so thankful to have them in our lives. They are family to us.

We thank Almost Home rescue and Darryl for their continued efforts to help, assist and support precious dogs. Our Mikey and Matty are the treasures in our lives.

Happy Holidays,
Mel and Linda Solomon

*An update: Linda emailed us later that week to let us know that Mikey passed his Canine Good Citizen training! Congrats, Mikey!
