An Update on Holly

Hi guys,

What a difference a month (or a little more) has made. It finally happened, she’s a dog now. There for a while she was sort of this nervous little moving ornament, very pretty but not to be touched. Now, she’s become this spoiled rotten little gremlin. She’s actually got a mischievous streak in her I would have never imagined. Pizza night is her favorite, not that she gets any pizza. The kids set up the TV trays and we do a movie and pizza. I think she thinks her odds of scoring falling debris are better in this setting. It paid off once for her when my little girl dropped a “pizza bone” (piece of crust). I swear, Holly was on it before it hit the floor.

One of the nicest things that’s worked its way in to her being is all out full bore playing. The kids call it playing “sheepdog”. They run around the couch in the great room and she chases them. Nothing more than a few light nips on loose clothing and they all love it. She barks and jumps and runs and acts like she doesn’t have a care in the world.

When the kids are in bed she’ll hang out with me and watch the history channel and get belly rubs. When the light goes out she’s off to Mara’s room to lie down for the night. She’s taken ownership of the kids and the house. She recognizes me as the head of the house but prefers to shadow the kids. As promised, Mara has been brushing her and telling her all about life and numbers and songs she likes. Holly gets this look on her face like she’s soaking in every moment of this like they might stop making them. She’s content and devoted to me and the kids. Thank you Robert for laying the groundwork. She’s a special dog. You brought her so far along by the time we got her. Thank you all so much from my kids and myself.

Best wishes,
The Geddis’

P.S. She absolutely loves playing with the sweet dopey boxers next door. She seems to just want to be friends but I’m pretty sure Tigger is in love with her.
