Description:
Mild-mannered Sam loves to be cuddled. He came to Almost Home with his brother as an owner surrender and unfortunately contracted distemper at the shelter he was taken to. His foster family says his appetite is improving and he is getting stronger every day. He is even starting to engage in play activities and loves to hang out with his foster family. Due to his recovery, his foster family is taking it slow. They report he is great on a leash and knows the sit command. They anticipate that he will be a quick learner since he is attentive, alert and smart.
Sam is a quiet dog. He only barks when he feels it is necessary. He gets surprised by sudden movements and unexpected noises but once he realizes he is safe, he returns back to his gentle relaxed state. His foster family says he is very affectionate and has the adorable habit of wrapping his leg around his foster's leg when he wants to be petted. He is content to sit down and watch TV with them and only wants their love. This sweet boy is making great progress and will make a great addition to a loving home.
