Description:
Buddy is a year-old, lively lad. He likes to explore first when he is outside and then play. Inside he likes to follow you and be active; however, when he decides to lie down, he will likely choose a spot where he can watch what everyone is doing. If his fosters sit on the floor, he lies next to them for belly rubs and pets. When they are sitting, he enjoys coming over to be petted and enjoys cuddling. He is a snuggler! Buddy enjoys the company of people and dogs equally. He is described as an “interactive” dog.
Buddy is still learning commands, but he is motivated by food and soft toys and is quite smart, so he should pick up new commands quickly. He pretty reliably comes when called and knows “sit.” In meeting children and dogs, Buddy can get exuberant because he really wants to greet them; however, he settles down if corrected. Buddy does have the sheep herding collie trait and will tend to nip at children if they are running. If they sit, he will snuggle them. When Buddy meets adults on walks, he is happy to go up to them to get petted.
Buddy enjoys tossing soft toys and bones to himself and has proven quite entertaining to his foster mom when he’s doing this. She says he’s very sweet and has been an easy dog to foster. She suspects his forever family will find him quickly because he is so wonderful.
