Description:
Charlie is coming up on five months old! He is a handsome, sable-colored, rough-coated collie with a personality full of love and inquisitiveness. He is a typical youngster that is curious about new things, loves to play and is food motivated and doing well with training and acclimating into his foster home.
He enjoys playing with his dog friends in his foster home and likes toys, but he will also come lie next to his foster humans and tries to be near them in the house. He does like to test out the various dog beds around the home. Charlie gets along well with the other dogs – he plays nice and respects their status. He is equally kind when people are visiting. Thus far, he has been interacting properly with children and the household cat.
Charlie is crate trained and housetrained. He stands at a door to ask to go outside. He has learned the words, “no,” “come” and “sit.” In fact, like a good dog should, he sits to say “please” when getting a treat, and this is an excellent indication that he is very trainable and able to learn the value of politeness for many other things in life. He is also walking on a leash and riding in the car very nicely.
As a young, active dog still in training, Charlie would do well in a home with a fenced yard and either an owner that is active and can keep Charlie exercised with walks and interactive play, or in a home with an adult dog that likes to play and can teach him as well. He is a sweet dog that will surely bring joy and love to his forever home.
