Description:
Sabrina was rescued from an outside area about 2’ x 3’. Despite the conditions and only being with her foster mom a short time, Sabrina has shown that she is a sweet girl. Currently, Sabrina is shy and scared of new things. If you haven’t spent time indoors, everything indoors is new. So as she encounters “firsts”, such as thresholds, she is a bit scared. With that said, Sabrina is a smart girl and already knows the comfort of one end of a loveseat she now calls her own. Sabrina is affectionate and likes to lay in her foster mom’s lap and especially loves getting her ears rubbed.
When Sabrina’s foster mom has gone out, Sabrina hasn’t gotten into any trouble. Her house manners have been great. She has met the foster mom’s dogs and been fine. Sabrina walks well on a leash, comes when called and is learning quickly other basic commands and routines. Sabrina’s shy and will take some time being around other dogs to learn how to interact with them. She hasn’t been introduced to cats yet, but it’s assumed she will react by being a bit scared and leave them alone. She has been fine meeting people, but again, she is tentative at first. Sabrina isn’t going to charge out to meet someone boldly. After she is around new people for a bit, she becomes comfortable with them.
Sabrina is patiently awaiting her forever home. She’s shown, in such a short amount of time, that she is gentle and loving and desires to be loved. Sabrina will require a forever home that is patient with her shyness and will help her develop into the loving and loyal collie she can be. Preferably, her adoptive family will have had past experience with poorly socialized dogs. This very special girl is waiting for her special forever home.
