Description:
Hardie is a tall, dark sheltie who shows his happiness by wiggling his butt with enthusiasm. He loves his people, loves attention, is affectionate and is a velcro dog who is right at his foster mom’s feet whenever she sits down. When she gets up, he is ready for the next activity and hopes it includes him, especially if it involves play. With newcomers he takes some time to warm up; he is just a bit timid. He enjoys other dogs, and would like a canine sibling but he/she needs to be a non-dominant dog who is willing to cope with his puppy playfulness and rough housing. He is still working on boundaries when playing with other dogs. Hardie has mastered Sit, Come and Stay, and is pretty consistent with Down and Kennel (to go into his crate). He is sensitive to human voices and is eager to please. He does fine being crated while his foster is gone, but whines if she is home because he really wants to be with her. Outside, he would appreciate a fenced in yard because he still has puppy energy and loves to run. When on a leash, he is curious about all of the smells he encounters and is a bit timid here, too. Inside, he barks at unfamiliar things but then is brave enough to investigate them. Hardie is house trained and does well in the car. At his age it is normal to chew things so he needs to be supervised. He is a smart boy who might enjoy agility training. He is waiting for his forever home where he can finish growing up and be your companion.
