Wren’s Forever Home

Wren is happily enjoying his new home and family. After establishing himself as a runner and galloping all around the Madison County countryside, he was graciously found, rescued and fostered by the Weindel family. After seeing Wren’s picture and learning about his bio and personality, I knew we would be great companions. Wren was adopted in September and we could not be happier.

When Wren was first adopted, he did not know what a name was, let alone his own name. He was extremely shy and timid, but comically polite. Within one week, he was adeptly walking on a leash, riding in a Jeep and went camping with several adults, kids and 9 other dogs. As soon as I set up the tent, he jumped right in and started prancing around in it! After overcoming his shyness around our house, Wren soon discovered the spare bedroom and can often be found sleeping in the guest bedroom in a full bed next to “his” nightstand and alarm clock! Keeping with his polite nature, he “knocks” on the back door when he wants to come in, (although he sometimes like to tease and play “ding-dong ditch-it.”)

Wren’s been keeping busy with our extended family, he’s great with kids and has many new canine friends that he hikes, plays and wrestles with. He has completely adapted to being the top dog in our house and enjoys all the one-on-one attention and affection. Wren’s gone from shy-guy to a dog with a lot of personality who stands tall and his puppy-persona is really coming out. He’s had a few puppy escapades – climbing the fence, eating a Bingo ball and a Christmas card, but he loves hiking, running in his yard and playing ball. Like Clifford the Big Red Dog, he appears to grow every time he gets up and he’s gotten a lot taller and has really filled-in.

Wren is a beautiful dog, very loving and much loved. I’m so happy to have him.

Thanks to everyone,
Maura Jaite
