Sundance
Sundance, now Clancy, was surrendered by a local family who could no longer care for him. Despite his condition, his previous owner has expressed concern for him and sadness over having to give him up. When he first came to my home he had had a horrible skin condition from having been infested with fleas. His fur was very thin and he was bald over a good portion of his body and he was a good 15 pounds under weight. He was very dirty and smelled pretty bad as well. After I was able to get him bathed he smelled and felt a whole lot better!!
Over time his fur grew back, he put on weight, and he gained strength and confidence. When he runs he has the most beautiful gait – almost looks like a horse trot!! He is a very loving dog – despite his size (he is long & tall) he wants to be a lap dog but will settle for laying beside you with his head on your lap. He showed my 2 doggies how they could sit in the living room and look out the window to see me coming home!!
He loves to go for walks – I’ve been told that he is now a true Pittsburgher and can handle the hills on his twice daily 1 mile walk. Once I took him around my block with me on my bike & him trotting along beside me. He never strays far from my side. Sundance/Clancy learned how to use the pet door in my home without any training. He loves to lay on my deck soaking up the sun and watching the world.
Clancy is truly a special dog and I wish I could find the words to really describe him & his wonderfulness!!!
