Miss Ava
Hi Daryl,
I can’t believe Ava is 2 years old already. She is loved maybe too much if that is possible as she has gotten a little pudgy over this winter.
She is home for about 2-3 hours at a time twice a day during the week while Linda is driving the school bus. Linda is home in the middle of the day of the day and Ava follows her everywhere.
Our girl has the run of the house and is very well behaved and really never has any accidents.
I guess she has adopted her Mom and Dad’s ways as we are in our early 60’s and she is content to sit with us unless there is a cat or a squirrel or a chipmunk or a bird or any animal in her yard. She runs them out, as you know it is her territory. She still only poops in the little woods in the back of our yard never in the grass. I guess that is from when she was with you on your wooded acreage around your home.
As the weather is starting to break, we are walking her more. She loves it.
There is no doubt how blessed we are to have her. She is definitely the smartest and most lovable pet we have ever had. She sits with us, sleeps with us, and when it’s nice out, she plays with us until we drop – never her.
Linda has mentioned recently maybe we need a collie girl about the same age for her to play with. If you run into any give me a call or send me an email. May be she is breaking down a little as she talks about a play mate for our “Queen” Miss Ava.
I have to figure out how to send you some current pictures. I’m sure the reunion is probably the last weekend in June again which is one of the few Saturdays I work all year, but we will try to get there for at least a little while again if possible.
You know I forgot to mention that Ava is great with our Grand Children also even though she is not with them alot but when she is she is great. I don’t know she just has that sense about her as to how gentle or how rough she can be depending.
We are going to Vegas in April so our youngest son, Michael and his fiance, Sandra are coming to stay with her. She loves them both and will be spoiled even more if thats possible while we are gone. There is positively no boarding for Ava as we make arrangements with one of our adult kids to watch her. Well, thats about all I can think of right now except let it please warm up.
Thank you again for putting Ava into our lives. She is truly one of your success stories.
God Bless,
Dave Oakley
