Dogs posted here may be just some of the AHDRO dogs that are currently ready for adoption.  We match dogs with a suitable home/family – so available dogs may already have a potential match.  In addition,  since we are always rescuing dogs, there are often dogs not yet posted. We allow them time to settle in with their foster home in order to evaluate their health and personality.

Toby is a 10-month-old collie who loves other dogs and gets along well with the neighbor’s cat. He loves to run and play and investigate his backyard. He needs to have a home with another young, active dog his size to play within a fenced-in yard. He can be trusted when he is home alone with his doggie sibling. He loves playing with toys.

Toby does exhibit anxiety in new situations, and when traveling in the car.   He loves to be brushed and his foster uses this time to reinforce with him that humans are wonderful and now he is less anxious around new people but still takes some time to warm up to them. He will need an owner who has had experience with anxious dogs to help him learn out to navigate the world with confidence.
