Description:
Dashingly handsome Dirk likes to play outside. He enjoys the company of people and other dogs equally. Dirk is active inside also. He is, after all, a young sheltie and that’s what they do. Dirk only knows a couple of commands so far because he is a bit timid. He’s only been with his foster for a short time, so she is working on him feeling comfortable there before requiring him to start learning. However, he does enjoy food and treats which should help him to feel motivated to learn. And since Dirk is all about play, training that feels like play will be a plus.
Because he’s a bit shy at first, Dirk doesn’t like when new people are trying to make his acquaintance while standing; however, if they sit down, he is happy to meet them.
Dirk has paws and he knows how to use them. He will paw to get your attention and nudge your cell phone if he wants you to pet him. Dirk is gentle, amiable and smart. He likes to go for walks and doesn’t bark frequently. Because he enjoys the company of people and dogs equally, but also wants attention, he might be fine in a home where he is the only dog. If you’ve been looking to cut back on your cell phone time, Dirk will help you put that phone down and allow you to pet him to your heart’s content.
