Description:
My name is Aria and I would like to tell you a little about myself. I spent the first four years of my life in a puppy mill having litter after litter of puppies. AHDRO came along to rescue me and started me on the path to a better life. I am learning how wonderful it is to be inside instead of in a crate in the barn. I am a mellow girl who likes to cuddle. I also love looking out the front door and keeping an eye on the neighborhood to make sure that nothing is happening that shouldn’t be. I am also getting used to all of the household routines and noises, and I am doing really well in that area. There are still a few things that startle me, but we are working on them. I do like to be wherever my foster mom is, especially in the kitchen in case she drops something I might like. I am learning what a treat is and hope to learn about toys very soon. I am housetrained and will go to the door when I need to go outside. I am also crate trained, but I really do not need to be since I can be trusted in the house when left alone. I would like a yard where I can check things out and keep those pesky squirrels and rabbits away.
Aria didn't want to sound boastful but we'd like to tell you a bit more about her. She will lie quietly at your feet and loves to have her ears and belly scratched. She is wonderful on a leash while out for a walk. The only time she will pull is if something startles her that she is not yet used to. However, after a little reassurance she is fine the next time she encounters what initially startled her and will go right by it. She is cautious when meeting new people and dogs but soon warms up. She would be fine as an only dog. If there are other dogs in the household, she would do best in a home with ones with calm, laid-back personalities. Aria had been in the home for up to four hours without being crated and she has been fine. She is not a big barker, but she will bark if there is something that she feels you need to be aware of. Aria is happily enjoying being a family dog and is looking for the family that will love her forever.
