Description:

Rapha, an energetic 1-year-old tricolor collie, is full of personality and joie de vivre. He will greet you with tail wags and a smile as he comes up to say hello. Rapha is a socializer and needs to be around people and other dogs. It will take a lot of active play from both to help this boy burn off his collie energy. When Rapha isn’t playing, he prefers to cuddle and be with his humans, keeping an attentive eye on the happenings around him.  

Rapha is a fast learner, and his driving desire is to please people, so he has already mastered the following: house training; the importance of personal space for his foster brothers; mealtime manners; the “no” command; and using a doggy door. This smart boy learned all of this within the first days with his foster family! Because of his need for companionship, he has only balked at being crated at night. He has done fine with being loose at night and has shown he needs to sleep near his humans. Rapha hasn’t been on a leash yet, but it’s believed he’ll do well on walks since he learns quickly.

Rapha must have a fenced-in yard. When he’s outside, he starts with play and then will explore.  Since he is an inquisitive and eager boy, Rapha might do well with agility or learning other skills that would combine keeping him active while socializing with people and dogs.
