Description:
What a sweetie! Ginger is a lovable young collie who is learning the routines in her foster home. She loves to run outside and plays energetically with her foster doggie siblings so if she were making her adoption wish list we think a fenced in yard and a dog to play chase with would be at the top of her list. Although a bit shy at first, she warms up more quickly to women but takes a little longer to trust the guys in her life.
She comes when she is called and is working on Sit and Down. She is smart girl and very treat motivated. Although she does love her outdoor time, indoors she is affectionate, wants to be with the people in the household and enjoys being close. When the family leaves the house, she is quite happy to go into her crate and stay there until they return home. She is a bit timid around new people and and is wary of new situations. She doesn't like loud noises and her coping strategy is to run to a safer place. As she gets accustomed to her foster home, in just one week she is demonstrating less nervousness but her adoptive family may need to give her some time to adjust to her new home. She is curious about cats, but has respected them and is doing well in her leash walking practice. Ginger is good natured, sensitive and alert and is waiting for her forever home where she will be loved and appreciated for who she is and what she will become as an adult.
