Description:

Spencer is an active 10 year old smooth collie whose owner had to surrender him.  He had lived in a rural setting and was usually tethered outside.  He is smart, social and very calm.  He enjoys leash walking with other dogs and is progressing on his leash manners  and he also enjoys exploring and sniffing about in the fenced yard. So far, he hasn't shown an inclination to play with other dogs in the household.  He follows his humans around, a real Velcro guy, but is getting more independent when outside by himself.  He likes to lay in the sunny spots in the yard and nap.  When inside he sleeps on his big dog bed with his head hanging over the bolster.

He understands Sit, Come, and gives paw.  He is a bit anxious and moves away when he hears loud household noises, but those sounds are probably unfamiliar to him.  We were told he was good with cats and he happily greeted children on his walk.  Spencer loves being brushed but is not crazy about getting a bath.  Spencer is super quiet and rarely barks unless he hears another dog barking or children playing outside.  He would fit into nearly any home and make a wonderful companion.
