Description:
Juliet’s personality has been blossoming now that her job as a mom is complete. She is still the same sweet, gentle, trusting collie that came to AHDRO in June with her eight puppies, but we are now able to see and enjoy her playful - and often silly - side as well.
Juliet has become a favorite at the community dog park. She looks forward to her daily time there to run, chase and play with her canine friends. She enjoys interaction with, and attention from, her human friends and is learning to bring that favorite ball back for it to be thrown again – except when she decides it would be more fun to just forget the ball and do zoomies around the park instead.
Juliet is potty trained and well-behaved in the house. There is no need for a crate, a comfy dog bed will do. She gets along well with her 2 Sheltie foster sisters. She finally mastered the stairs, so she now sleeps upstairs with the pack each night, instead of alone downstairs. She is a velcro dog that will follow her people from room to room, but once there is happy to settle and watch from a spot that is not underfoot. Toys are especially important to Juliet – preferably a big basket full! All kinds, any kind, and especially if they squeak.
Juliet walks nicely on a leash and does not know a stranger. She wants to meet everyone she sees. It does not matter what gender, or if young or old, Juliet approaches all in a gentle manner and offers her face for petting. Juliet is especially drawn to children. She will happily sit and take any petting, and even hugs, they offer.
Juliet knows sit, shake, down and stay/wait. We are working on her understanding more human words. She is a curious and attentive student, especially when an interactive game is made of the teaching. She has become “talkative” and will carry on conversations with her foster mom when she wants something – like dinner or a potty walk.
Juliet is sweet, gentle, playful, silly, funny, easy to be with and a joy to have around. She is ready for her forever home. A canine sibling would be nice but is not necessary. Kids to play with would work too, if available, - oh, and a place to chase balls and run zoomies would make it perfect.
