The Forever Home Program

Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio 's "Forever Home Program" consists of program areas which provide support for our rescued dogs -- from intake to adoption. These programs were created to help remove our dogs from abusive and/or neglectful situations, bring them in from shelters or humane agencies, or from owners who can no longer care for their pets due to illness or death. We place them in foster homes, and then into their forever homes. We are seeing an increasing number of dogs abandoned by their owners due to foreclosures and job loss. We receive phone calls weekly from people asking us to take their dogs, and if at all possible, we do so that they won't be left behind.

Our organization and programs are entirely volunteer run. We rely on donations to provide continued support. The cost to rescue, rehabilitate and foster our dogs far exceed our requested adoption donation. Contribution information can be found on each program page.

Fostering the Love Program
Fostering an Almost Home dog is an act of love given to a dog who has endured some form of tragedy. The benefits of fostering a rescued dog cannot be measured.

The Senior to Senior Program
When other rescue organizations have passed by seniors at the shelters, we have brought them in. Our Senior to Senior Project was created to match senior citizens with senior dogs through a permanent senior foster program. Learn more about this program...

The Molly Fund
The Molly Fund was established in 2006 to be used solely for dogs like Molly who come into our rescue with astronomical medical problems. Molly was hit by a car, received improper medical care, and was allowed to run loose before her injuries had healed. Learn more about this fund...
