The dogs in the adoption program at Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio have had complete veterinary physical examinations and are up-to-date on vaccinations. Each dog has been neutered or spayed, unless he or she is too young, in which case the procedure will be arranged at the appropriate age. In addition, every dog has been tested for heartworm and put on preventative, treated for intestinal parasites, treated for flea prevention with Frontline, and micro chipped.
If needed, dogs under our care receive other medical attention such as dental cleanings and treatment for heartworm disease. We also enlist the expertise of a variety of resources to assist us with training the dogs or dealing with behavioral issues, if any.
All dogs in our rescue live in approved foster homes. This is the best possible housing situation for the dogs while they are waiting to be adopted because they receive love, attention, training, and socialization. Foster families provide our adoption coordinator with information about their foster dogs; this information is used to create a suitable match between your family and your new dog.
Below are the dogs that are currently up for adoption. Please click on an image for specific information about a dog. If you are interested in adopting one of these dogs, or if you would like to be preapproved and put on our waiting list, please proceed to our application page or email us for more information.
