Introducing Oscar, a beautiful, gentle collie who weighs 61 pounds. Although he gets along well with other dogs, he seems eager to meet them, and is only curious about cats, people seem to be his favorite companions. He enjoys being close to and likes to cuddle with his human foster family. He loves the two middle-school-aged children in the household and the children he meets at the bus stop. In fact, he is outgoing and enjoys meeting anyone.
He is submissive, sometimes rolling on his back when you reach out to pet him and is eager to please. Commands do not appear to have been part of his former life, but he is a smart dog so we think he will learn them with just some time and practice. And the same goes for walking on a leash. He is a quiet dog who seems to enjoy car rides. He will go in his crate when asked, albeit reluctantly because he prefers to be with his people. Like many collies, he is not fond of loud noises.
He is curious about his environment and attentive to his surroundings. He is learning to be playful with dogs and people and has been known to occasionally abscond with a stuffed animal as a new toy. His personality is a wonderful combination of playful but mellow, curious and calm, sensitive and trusting as well as sociable and good natured. He is a wonderful companion who wants to be not just a dog in a household, but a loving member of the family.
