Last weekend Logan accompanied us on a trip to Stearns in South Kentucky . He spent his time at ease in the pergola, though he did come and sleep next to us. He walked, tail-wagging, with his beloved Mum. I am glad we went last weekend. This morning he went for a walk with his Mum, and he wagged his tail at Don, our next door neighbor. He ate his favourite breakfast and shouted for more.
Then he lay down next to his little sister to spent the day in quiet contemplation mixed with treats from Dad. He didn’t want to go out at 5.00pm this evening and he wouldn’t eat his dinner. By the time Anne came home at 7.00pm he was in distress, though our caresses calmed him and he became quiet, his head on Anne’s lap. His pulse by then was irregular and slow but he had gone beyond pain and by 8.00pm he had left us – gentle in death.
For now let me say again the words I spoke even as his spirit left us:
In my Father’s House are many mansions. If this were not so, then I would have told you. I go now to prepare a place for you – that where I am, there you may be also.
He was contrary and noisy at times but he was his own little man, with his own gentle smile. He enriched our lives and we mourn his loss. Thank you, Sherry, for the gift of this little man.
Goodbye Logan .
Your Mum & your Dad miss you. Laurie will not have you to fuss every morning – her favourite little boy. We will meet again, beloved boy!
