We were blessed to have Casey with us for this past year. When we adopted this senior dog, we hoped for a longer time with him, but that was not to be. Cancer took him too early. Casey was a pure LOVE! Such a handsome gentle slug. He really loved his nice big comfy LL Bean dog bed and as many “oldies” do, he would curl up and nap frequently. As two seniors adopting a senior dog, we wondered how he would make the tranisition. Well, that surely was not an issue. We brought him home, he came in and looked around and basically said, “This looks like a good place to live, what do you want me to do?” He just slipped into our retirement schedule and every day this past year was a gift. Casey was such a mellow fellow, using his long nose to say, “I need a body rub, or “How about going for a walk”, or better yet, “Let ‘s go for a ride in the´car”. That was the very best idea! A trip to the park by Lake Erie provided a wealth of good “doggie smells” and lots of compliments from strangers. He loved the attention. Casey has been our shadow this past year and he is so missed. Adopting Casey was a WIN WIN for both man and dog; he was a marvelous companion and we know we made his last year special. How fortunate we were to find AHDRO and our beloved Casey.
