Mickey had his last test this afternoon through Therapy Dogs, Inc. He (we) passed with flying colors. Mickey was great. Lots of comments about how wonderful he is and what a great therapy dog he is going to make. He warms my heart. We went to the “dementia house” in Chelsea, MI. One lady kept grabbing his head and planting kisses on his face. She really wanted him to lick her (he’s not a licker) so she just kissed him instead. There were wheelchairs and walkers going by him in all directions and he just took it all in stride.
I just can’t say enough about what a great dog Mickey is. All that’s left now to make it “official” is to send his paperwork in to the national TDInc office and wait to get our certification (ID badge for me and tag for Mickey) back. Then we’re set to arrange our visitation schedule. I think we’re both excited! Wish us well!
