Brodie’s Happy Ending
Hi Barb and Daryl,
Just wanted to give you an update on Brodie. In the time since we brought him home he has found his voice and exercises it on a regular basis, plays with toys and us, is an ambassador for rescue dogs everywhere, picks up his food bowl and moves it to the hallway and does not mind at all it he spills any. He is a vigorous hunter of wildlife in our neighborhood. I watched him throw himself against a tall juniper tree in order to get the birds out of it. He was standing on his back legs when he did this! I have never seen a dog do anything like that. Maybe he has a sense of humor as he never tried to catch any of them?
In our neighborhood we are currently polluted with Pepe Le Pews and Brodie makes sure to chase them when ever he can, hence the name stinky. He has only got a partial spray once and also rubbed his nose in the scents a couple of times as you bent to give him a kiss you end up going “pew.” It has gotten so bad that you are constantly on radar patrol when you walk him at night and they are in the back yard to the point I am opening the door and shouting “go away nasty skunky” before ever considering letting him out. The other morning Andrew was about to let him out the back and as I looked out the window there was Pepe looking as though he was sent marking, the word “Nooooooo” came out fast and loud. I looked on the internet and found a sonic deterrent that would not bother the dog but they would not ship it up here ( Canada ).
I’m not sure what Mr. Brodie is going to do when the snow is gone. He just loves it and eats snow sandwiches all the time. I checked the website the other day and saw how many dogs you have placed already this year and that is great!
