Thank you for considering Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio (AHDRO). The primary goals of AHDRO are for the health, safety and well-being of the dogs in our program. The background information provided during the adoption process will be used to help match you with your new family member. AHDRO wants to ensure a forever home!
Adoption contributions range from $200 – $450 depending upon the age and breed of the dog. Donation is due at the time of adoption.
Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio has no paid employees or overhead. 100% of the adoption donation goes to the care of the dogs. This enables AHDRO to recover some of the associated costs with rescue, yet the care and resources invested far outweigh the donation. AHDRO organizes multiple fundraising events each year to generate additional funds from the community to help offset expenses as well.

The first step in the adoption process is to read and agree to the AHDRO policies and guidelines. After that, you will be able to fill out and submit an application. The adoption team will review your application, complete a phone interview and contact your veterinarian to verify that your current pets are up to date on vaccinations and heartworm preventative. A home visit may then be requested.
Once all of these steps have progressed positively, your family will be scheduled to meet the potential pet at the foster home. This allows time to visit, evaluate and have any questions answered. The adoption donation will be due, should you choose to move forward at this time. These steps are intended to ensure the best match for your family and for the dog.
